Mission 26 is committed to empowering young adults with disabilities, preparing them for successful transitions into the world of work. Our dedicated board members bring diverse experiences and insights that drive our mission forward.💛
Our Mission 26 board members are a group of passionate and dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our organization. With diverse backgrounds in education, advocacy, and leadership, they are united by a shared commitment to empowering young adults with disabilities. Together, they guide Mission 26 in its mission to prepare and support these individuals as they transition into the workforce, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities needed for success. Our board members’ dedication and vision are at the heart of everything we do, driving us forward to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
Mission 26 was founded by John Boersma and his family in 2023, inspired by their experiences and the needs of the community. Our goal is to support young adults with disabilities in their transition to the workforce before the age of 26, when many services cease.
The Boersma family’s journey, particularly with their son Wrigley, highlighted the need for a supportive community and resources for young adults with disabilities.
John’s extensive experience in special education and career training laid the foundation for Mission 26’s programs.
We strive to be a valuable resource for young adults, helping them prepare for employment and achieve their full potential.
